a.o. Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Marktl
Prof. Marktl was born in Carinthia, studied medicine in Innsbruck, became professor for medical physiology and is at present director of the Ludwig Boltzmann-Institut for the investigation of physiological rhythms at Bad Tatzmannsdorf. He is the chairman of the academic council of the Vienna International Academy for Holistic Medicine, and since 2003 the president of this academy. Numerous publications justify his international reputation as an expert in the area of holistic medicine.

Complementary medicine as a supplement to traditional medicine

Prof. Dr. Shive Narain Gupta
Prof. Gupta, doctor of Ayurvedic medicine, was born in Nadiad, India. He completed his academic basic training in „Ayurveda medicine and Surgery “(B.A.M.S.) in 1977 at the university of Indore and was awarded the Gold Medal. Prof. Gupta started his teaching career in Europe at the University of Tuebingen in 1990. Since then he is working in Austria, Switzerland and Germany at well-known universities teaching the fundamental principles as well as the practical application of the Ayurveda medicine. As one of the members of the advisory board of the European academy for Ayurveda he is decisively involved in drafting academic Ayurveda courses.
